Sunday Morning Service - January 12, 2025 - "Appropriate Corporate Worship - (Part Two)"

Jan 12, 2025    Kenny Rodgers

As we continue looking at Paul’s instructions to the church at Corinth regarding worship and, specifically, the subject of “tongues,” we may find ourselves asking, “How can a sermon from 1 Corinthians 14 benefit a non-charismatic church?” The key to answering that question is found in our text today, as Paul further explains what we initially saw in last week’s message: the superiority of “prophecy” over “tongues.” In this passage, Paul appeals to Old Testament Scripture and two illustrations as he exhorts the Corinthian believers to “grow up” and realize the folly of speaking in “tongues” in corporate worship, while also demonstrating the value of intelligible speech in corporate worship.
