Sunday Morning Service - February 16, 2025 - “Samuel and the Word of the LORD”
In this passage, God speaks for the first time to this young boy named Samuel. As God speaks, we see the magnificent power of His Word on display as He draws Samuel to know and serve Him; He announces condemnation on Eli and his sons; and He initiates the transformation of Samuel from a young boy who did not yet know Him, into a man who served as prophet, priest, and judge - a man who spoke in such a way that all Israel knew that he was a true prophet who heard and spoke the words of the LORD.
As we observe the powerful effects of God’s Word in Samuel’s life, we are reminded that God’s written Word is of utmost importance in our lives, because it is the instrument He uses to draw us to faith in Christ, and to transform our lives as we grow in Him.
